Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

Posted on November 7, 2021November 8, 2021 by Sophie Oglesson

Why is it that whilst going through a phase where many, including my past self, would assume an increase in spare time that I seem just as busy as normal and the to-do list never seems to shrink?

As I’m not currently working, I had hoped to spend my time finishing Udemy courses, adding some substance to ongoing prototypes. Instead it seems the steps required to get a job are fairly time and energy consuming and this on top of ongoing family responsibilities means I’m not quite making the progress I would have hoped.

Still one thing I am hoping to complete before weeks end is a short career FAQ for those visiting this site during the recruitment process. For example I do feel the need to acknowledge and explain why after 16 years in development, I’m not at a more senior level and that is definitely something I will address if for no other reason that thinking it through may help current depression and confidence problems.

Anyway, if you are reading this via my CV welcome and I can only apologise for the sparse nature of the content.
